asked the Minister for Lands if the shooting of song birds is prohibited; and, if not. if he will introduce legislation to prevent the shooting of such birds.
With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle I propose to take Questions Nos. 29 and 30 together. I am hopeful that the Bill will be introduced before the end of the present session. Wild birds, including song birds, at present enjoy only limited protection against shooting. It is proposed to improve this situation substantially under the new legislation.
