The pensioner referred to in the question applied for a widow's pension on the 8th March, 1971, not in November, 1970, as stated by the Deputy. As the claim was for a non-contributory pension inquiries regarding the claimant's means were necessary and in the particular circumstances of the case were somewhat protracted. A pension has now been awarded and the pension book has been issued to the claimant.
