asked the Minister for Education if he is aware that the parents of boys who are studying at Killester vocational school are perturbed at the decision of the chief executive officer of the City of Dublin Vocational Education Committee not to allow a senior cycle course there for students this year; and that at least thirty students have opted to continue their studies up to leaving certificate in that school; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I am aware of the position in this matter and I am fully satisfied that the decision of the City of Dublin Vocational Education Committee is in the best educational interests of the pupils involved. That decision is in keeping with a recommendation from the advisory council for post-primary education in the Greater Dublin area.
