Vol. 255 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Civil Liability Damages.

35.

(Cavan) asked the Minister for Justice if, having regard to the change in the value of money since 1961, he will consider introducing legislation to increase the maximum damages of £1,000 which may be awarded for mental distress in fatal cases under the Civil Liability Act, 1961.

The answer is "No". I would refer the Deputy to my detailed reply to a similar question on 5th November last.
