Vol. 255 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Criminal Law Amendment.

122.

asked the Minister for Justice if, in view of the refusal of the Seanad to grant leave to introduce the Criminal Law Amendment Bill, 1971, the Government have any proposals in regard to this matter; and, if so, what they are.

123.

asked the Minister for Justice whether, in view of the failure of the Seanad to accept a recent Private Members' Bill to amend section 17 of the Criminal Law Amendment Act, 1935 and in view of the public representations made by the leaders of the Church of Ireland and by the Presbyterian and Methodist Churches as well as by others concerned with the introduction of responsible schemes of family planning the Government propose to introduce amending legislation in the matter.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 122 and 123 together. The matter is still under consideration.
