Vol. 255 No. 16

Written Answers. - Meath Death.

71.

asked the Minister for Justice whether foul play is suspected in relation to the circumstances surrounding the death of a man who was found in a caravan in Omeath some time ago; and, if so, the result of Garda enquiries to date.

The circumstances and cause of death in the case referred to in the question were investigated in public by a coroner and jury at an inquest held on 15th July at which the gardaí gave evidence. A coroner's inquest is the method prescribed by law for enquiring into such matters and it would be altogether inappropriate for me to offer any comment in this House in relation to a case that has been so investigated.
