Vol. 255 No. 16

Written Answers. - Dublin Road Proposal.

168.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that a proposed new road in the Finglas west area, Dublin, will run through the Erin's Isle pitch and putt course thus resulting in the loss of five greens; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I am not so aware. Some time ago Dublin Corporation were considering the provision of a road in this area, as part of a network of roads to open up the Tolka valley. Subsequently, it was decided to defer construction of this particular section of the road network until a housing layout was being prepared for the area where the pitch and putt course is situated. It will be some time yet before such a layout is prepared, as housing development is starting at the other end of the valley. I have no doubt that the existing amenities will be taken into account by the corporation when they are having the layout prepared.
