asked the Minister for Health whether he has received a request from the CEO, Eastern Health Board, to sanction the purchase of Tullyallen House, Dublin, for hostel purposes for the psychiatric services in the area; whether the proposal has the approval of the chief psychiatrist and the clinical director as well as the architectural and administrative staff of the Eastern Health Board; and if he intends to sanction the purchase of the house.

I received a proposal in this matter on 9th July. My decision was conveyed orally to the board on the 14th and it was confirmed in writing on the 21st. The question of whether any further action will be taken is now a matter for consideration by the board. The Deputy will appreciate that I cannot give details regarding a transaction of this nature.
