Vol. 256 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Export Concessions.

90.

asked the Minister for Finance (a) the total amount allowed over the past financial year as tax free concessions on exports, (b) the amount allowed to concerns with over 50 per cent Irish share capital and (c) the amount allowed to concerns which are either subsidiaries of foreign companies or whose share capital is over 50 per cent non-nationally owned.

The latest information available relates to the year to January 31st, 1971. In that year exports relief in respect of corporation profits tax, income tax and surtax amounted to £15.1 million. Of this amount, it is estimated that £3.8 million was granted to concerns falling within (b) of the question and £11.3 million was granted to concerns falling within (c) of the question.
