I am aware of the fact that an offer has been made to take over the printing group concerned.
The Deputy will appreciate that I have no power to intervene in transactions of this kind where private enterprises are involved.
By reason of the fact that they have given grants to some of the companies in the group the Industrial Development Authority and Shannon Free Airport Development Company are interested parties and their consent is required to the transfer of some of the assets involved. The IDA and SFADCO will take whatever steps are open to them to safeguard the interests of the workers.
