Notices will be inserted in the national newspapers shortly inviting public comments on the model bye-laws for private rented accommodation initially drafted by my Department and which have now been revised in the light of observations received from 28 local authorities throughout the country. Following consideration of any comments made by the public, the model bye-laws will be finalised and circulated to local authorities without any unnecessary delay.
As the list of local authorities who have commented on the model bye-laws is in the form of a tabular statement, I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to have it circulated with the Official Report.
