The present position is that the report which the Higher Education Authority recently submitted in relation to higher education generally and university education in particular is at present being printed. After it has been published and considered by all the interested parties the question of introducing legislation will arise. Any legislation that might be introduced would undoubtedly cover such matters as the mode of appointment to academic posts.
