Vol. 261 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Port Development.

7.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power if he has yet received from the Dublin Port and Docks Board their plan for the development of the port.

The Dublin Port and Docks Board have informed me that their studies for the long-term development of the port have been completed and they hope to be able to let me have copies and to publish the studies and put illustrative relief maps on public display before the end of July. These studies will not comprise formal plans for the consideration of the planning authorities or the Government but are rather discussion documents put forward on behalf of the board alone. In the light of the reaction to the studies of the public and special interests concerned, the board would consider at a later stage the formulation of specific plans for consideration by the planning authorities. No approval for the general proposals is being sought by the board at this stage.
