The newspaper report on which the first part of the question is based is, in all material respects, untrue and without foundation.
My Department does not carry out, and has no facilities for carrying out, any investigations of the kind in question. Any such investigation that might be called for would be a matter for the Garda Síochána and would be dealt with by them and not by my Department.
The Minister says that the report was incorrect but he does not say it was completely incorrect.
