asked the Minister for Education if he will state in respect of the CEO of vocational education committees (a) the salaries paid in 1922, (b) the adjustments made since then, (c) the date of each adjustment and (d) the salary after adjustment up to the latest date for which figures are available.

The office of chief executive officer did not exist in 1922. Vocational education committees were set up under the Vocational Education Act, 1930, and in the early years chief executive officers had personal scales expressed in terms of basic salary and cost of living bonus. Consolidated standardised scales were introduced in January, 1950. The scales in operation since that date are as follows:
