It is not proposed to provide special grants for this purpose.
Is the Minister aware that it is impossible to drive cattle along the main truck roads? Would the Minister investigate this problem? There are many people who would undertake this work if they got grants from the Department of Local Government or the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries or their County Councils.
I am so aware. I understand that they have offered to do this over a number of years, but the Department of Local Government were not anxious to take it on. At present I think it is not a top priority.
Will the Minister's Department make a study of this?
Yes. It would be worth having a look at it.
