The drain in question does not form part of the Boyne catchment drainage scheme as confirmed by the Minister for Finance. The application for its inclusion in the scheme has been noted and will be examined in due course. At present the engineering staff on the scheme are fully occupied in supervising the progress of the scheduled works so it will probably be some time before an opportunity will arise to enable the detailed survey necessary to be undertaken. The Deputy and the applicant will be notified as soon as the examination has been carried out and a decision taken.
