Arising out of the Deputy's supplementary question to his Question No. 24 of 22nd May, 1973, on the subject I had further inquiries made about the provision of lighting on this scheme.
I am informed that the Electricity Supply Board consider that, apart from the shortage of fittings, delay in the completion of the public lighting was also due in part to delay by the local authority in the levelling of part of the site. I understand that all outstanding work has been, or is being done by the corporation and the board and that it is hoped that the public lighting on the estate will be completed shortly.
Is the Minister aware that this estate has been completed now for many months and that Dublin County Council are awaiting the installation of the lighting system to take the estate in charge so that the estate can be provided with a bus service by CIE?
I am so aware but the ESB consider that the delay was partly due to the corporation's failure to level part of the estate at St. Dominic's Road which prevented the ESB from completing the erection of pylons. The work, I understand, will be completed this week.
