The EEC Commission has not yet put forward new proposals for the development of Community regional policy, as invited by the Paris Summit. The guidelines on which these proposals will be based which are set out in the recent Cornmission report on the regional problems in the enlarged Community, are, in general, acceptable. The principles which the Government will strive to have adopted in implementation of Community regional policy are set in my financial statement on the budget, to which I would refer the Deputy.
