Vol. 266 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Crumlin (Dublin) Garda Strength.

40.

asked the Minister for Justice if a second uniformed-Garda car will be provided for Crumlin Station as it appears that one such car is not sufficient to cater for Crumlin and Sundrive Road Stations, Dublin.

41.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state the present strength of the Garda force at Crumlin Station, Dublin.

(Cavan): With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 40 and 41 together.

The commissioner has informed me that arrangements have been made to assign an additional Garda patrol car to Crumlin District. The new car will be based at Sundrive Road Station.

The present Garda strength at Crumlin Station is 59. As stated in reply to a Question by the Deputy on 13th June, the strength of this district has recently been under review and it may be that the strength will be increased, perhaps within the next 12 months.

I wish to thank the Minister for his reply. I do not intend to make a statement on the matter.

The Deputy has made a nice statement. I am calling Question No. 42.
