I am at present considering, in consultation with the health boards, what further steps could be taken to improve the recruitment position of permanent physiotherapists.
Apart from the improvement which may flow as a result of these consultations, the setting up of the new training school for physiotherapists in St. James's Hospital, with a consequent increase in output of trained physiotherapists, could reasonably be expected to ease the existing shortage.
