asked the Taoiseach the number of (a) permanent farm employees and (b) temporary farm employees in each county in June, 1972 grouping counties as in the Agricultural Area Committee Regulations, 1937; the estimated number of employees in the A, B and C districts; and the number of tractors in each county and totals for the country.

Estimates of the number of permanent and temporary male farm employees 14 years of age and over in June, 1972, in each county grouped approximately into the A, B and C areas are shown in the following table. The number of tractors on agricultural holdings in each county in June, 1971§ are also shown. The figures are based on sample returns covering approximately 50 per cent of the area of the country.
