Vol. 268 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Cork Enterprise.

13.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if, in view of recent Press reports, he will make a statement on the present stage of plans for the proposed Dupont enterprise at Ringaskiddy, County Cork.

I understand that discussions between the company and the Industrial Development Authority on the possibility of establishing a plant at Ringaskiddy, County Cork, are continuing.

Some concern was expressed with recent Press reports which stated that there were doubts about the future of the factory and I should like to ask the Minister if there was any truth in these reports and if there is any reason for these doubts.

The Deputy is probably referring to an article which appeared in the Cork Examiner but an article in the same paper on the 12th October stated: “The firm Dupont is going ahead with the Irish plant.” My information is that these doubts are groundless.
