It is not possible at this stage to say what precise effect the recent price increases sanctioned by me will have on the consumer price index.
Will the Minister be able to supply us with the information before the Monaghan by-election? Is there no answer to that?
The price index figures are issued in mid-November and I do not know how long it takes to process them after that.
I am sure some excuse will be found for a delay.
