asked the Minister for Local Government if his Department have received correspondence dealing with the difficulties and safety of pedestrians especially the young and the elderly crossing the main Bray-Wicklow-Arklow road at Kilmacanogue, County Wicklow; and if he will state the steps he proposes to take in this regard.

Correspondence has been received in the Department from time to time about the provision of pedestrian facilities on the Dublin Wexford Road at Kilmacanogue. I understand that proposals for improvement works in the interests of road safety at this location are being examined by the road authority and that such examination is nearing completion. I will be prepared to make an appropriate allocation from the Road Fund for suitable improvement works.
