Vol. 269 No. 12

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take Nos. 1, 5 and 6, Vote 3, resumed. Questions will be taken at 2.30 p.m. to finish. It is proposed to sit at 10.30 a.m. tomorrow.

On the Order of Business, may I ask the Taoiseach whether we can expect a debate on the specific treaty that may arise from the Sunningdale agreement?

I cannot hear the Deputy.

The Deputy is inaudible.

Whatever debates are necessary according to the Constitution will be held. That depends on constitutional advice on the form of the agreement.

While appreciating the Taoiseach's difficulty in being specific about this matter, could I ask him whether, as indicated in his introductory speech, he will be bringing specific things before the House? I take it this means that there will undoubtedly be another discussion on whatever documentation emerges in a specific way rather than as part of the overall discussion on the Taoiseach's Estimate.

Of course there will be consequential legislation arising out of the agreement and there will be debates on that. As I said to the Deputy yesterday, at the moment this is the only debate.

I did not get it yesterday. This is what I was seeking from the Taoiseach.

The Deputy can speak today.

That is not my point. I will be talking on both days. I am looking for a second debate.
