I am informed that the Industrial Development Authority has 149 applications from industrial workers for National Building Agency houses in Galway. The agency has 118 houses already under construction in Galway, and the construction of a further 163 houses is expected to commence during the early part of this summer.
In addition, 55 out of a total of 122 houses being provided by the Galway Corporation will be made available to the National Building Agency for industrial workers. In all, therefore, 336 houses are either under construction at the moment or due to start this summer and this will cater adequately for the housing needs of the workers mentioned.
