The amount of the grant-in-aid of general expenses to Macra na Tuaithe in the financial year 1974-5 will be decided in connection with the preparation of the Estimates for the Public Services for that year. I am not in a position to make a statement in regard to it at this time.
Would the Minister agree that, in view of the very important educational work that Macra na Tuaithe are doing throughout the country, the grant at the moment is appallingly low, and would he assure the House that he will strain every nerve to increase it substantially for the coming year?
