Recruitment of the 500 has not yet begun. I expect it can begin within a few weeks and that the full additional strength will be available in about 15 months, though the earlier intakes will of course be on duty much sooner.
Will the recruits be taken from the new recruiting list or an existing one?
The existing list of suitable applicants will be first exhausted.
