It is proposed to take business in the following order: Nos. 5 and 7 (resumed). Private Members' Business, Motion No. 13 (resumed), will be taken from 6 to 7.30 p.m.

On a point of order, why did the chair rule my Private Notice question out——

I have written to the Deputy. He may not raise the matter in the House.

My question related to——

The Deputy may not advert to the matter in the House.

In County Louth——

Deputy Andrews, please. I have written to the Deputy. If he requires any further information in the matter, he may consult me in my office but he may not raise the matter now.

I want to have the contents of my question put on the record of the House.

The Deputy is completely out of order and he knows it.

In view of the seriousness of the matter——

Deputy Andrews will resume his seat.

I am asking Deputy Andrews to resume his seat. If he does not, I must ask him to leave the House.

Republican duty is done for the day.

I am glad to note that the Parliamentary Secretary is able to treat a situation in which the gardaí were threatened with being shot yesterday in the manner in which he does.

A Deputy

It shows the regard he has for the gardaí.

If a garda is shot a lot of the responsibility will fall on Deputies on the other side of the House.
