Vol. 271 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Land Bonds.

66.

asked the Minister for Lands the total value of land bonds not allocated in his Department up to January, 1974.

Bonds put to credit and not yet allocated at 31st January, 1974, amounted in value to £2,977,191.

Does the Minister not agree it is a disgraceful situation that the Land Commission and the Government should hold this amount of money from people who have sold land in good faith and are still awaiting payment? What do the Government propose to do about the matter?

I have no information on that.

Can the Minister say why this amount of money is being held back?

The only information I have is that given in reply to the question which deals with the total value of land bonds not allocated.
