asked the Minister for Finance if he proposes any improvements to the Phoenix Park, Dublin.

Mr. Kenny

A small children's playground is under construction in the People's Gardens.

Various other improvements are under consideration but I am not at present in a position to give details.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware that toilet facilities in the Phoenix Park, Dublin are in a deplorable condition; and if steps will be taken to have them improved.

Mr. Kenny

As I stated in reply to a similar question on the 26th March, 1974, the whole question of toilet facilities in the Phoenix Park is under review at present. The existing toilets in the park are maintained in a satisfactory condition, and no complaints have been received in regard to them.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will ensure that an additional pavilion will be opened in the Phoenix Park, Dublin at weekends to serve GAA pitches there.

Mr. Kenny

There is no need at present for an additional pavilion to serve the GAA pitches in the Phoenix Park at weekends.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state in respect of the Phoenix Park, Dublin whether he has any proposals to improve refreshment facilities, to provide rough ground for climbing, et cetera and to build a swimming pool to be named after President Douglas Hyde.

As I have stated in answer to a similar question on the 26th March, 1974, the question of refreshment facilities in the Phoenix Park is at present under consideration and I am not yet in a position to make a statement. There are no proposals to provide rough ground for climbing et cetera or to build a swimming pool in the park.

asked the Minister for Finance if he intends to proceed with the proposals to eliminate all through-traffic in the Phoenix Park, Dublin.

Mr. Kenny

The question of limiting vehicular traffic in the Phoenix Park is under examination. I am not yet in a position to make a statement.

12.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will agree to close the GAA pitches in the Phoenix Park, Dublin on a rotational basis with a view to levelling and reseeding them.

Mr. Kenny

As I informed the Deputy on the 7th March, 1974 in reply to a similar question, "the general question of the public playing pitches in the Phoenix Park, their use and their condition, is at present under consideration".
