asked the Minister for Lands the acreage of forest which must be replanted as a result of last winter's storms; and the salvage value of the timber felled.

(Cavan): The area of State forests damaged by last winter's storms was approximately 1,270 hectares, 3,100 acres. As many of the areas included in the figure were small or suffered only a partial blow, the area requiring replanting will be considerably smaller than this.
The timber was generally uprooted rather than shattered so that it has not suffered deterioration in quality. The question of a salvage value does not, therefore, arise.
