I am continuing to press the EEC Commission to expedite the submission to the Council of Ministers of its proposals for a regulation covering the sheep market.

The EEC has not so far made provision for a common organisation of the market in ware potatoes. I understand that the Commission are at present examining the matter with a view to submitting proposals for this purpose to the Council in the near future.
The marketing of seed potatoes in the EEC is controlled to the extent of the provisions of directive No. 66/403/EEC. This directive is being applied in this country on a gradual basis and will be in full operation here by 1st July, 1976.
