The directive on average precision weights has already been implemented here by the European Communities (Measuring Instruments) Regulations, 1973. A directive on weights of above average precision, such as are used in laboratories, was finalised on 4th March, 1974, and will be similarly implemented.
The other directives are still under discussion and when their provisions have been agreed we will be under obligation to allow the sale of goods which comply with their terms.
