Vol. 272 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - School Bus Drivers' Dispute.

63.

asked the Minister for Education if he is considering postponing the certificate examinations from June, 1974, to a later date because of the inability of many candidates to attend school due to the school bus drivers' strike.

Mr. R. Burke

I am satisfied that it would not be feasible to postpone the certificate examinations from June to a later date.

64.

asked the Minister for Education the number of pupils normally carried by the school bus service who are affected by the school bus drivers' dispute.

On Monday, 13th May, the estimated number of pupils affected by the unofficial strike of some part-time school bus drivers was 32,000-10,450 primary school pupils and 22,150 secondary school pupils.
