The amount of building society loans paid in the period 1st January to 30th June, 1973 was £26,638,000. Final figures for the first six months of 1974 are not yet available.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will now increase the maximum local authority house loan to £7,000 and the income limit to £3,000.
I have no immediate proposals to increase the maximum local authority house purchase loan and income limits but I am continuing to keep the matter under review.
