Cavan): Grants have been made from the European Agricultural Guidance and Guarantee Fund (FEOGA) for forestry projects of a substantial nature where such projects are seen to play an important part in the improvement of agricultural structures. No grants from the fund have been paid for forestry projects to persons in Ireland.
A proposal for a Council Directive on Forestry which would widen the scope for subvention of forestry projects is at present under discussion in Brussels.
