I assume that the question refers to the pay differentiation between certain telephone staff employed in or near the major urban centres and those employed in other parts of the country.
A staff claim for the payment of this staff, and others, at the rates applicable in the major centres is at present under consideration at the departmental council under the scheme of conciliation and arbitration for the Civil Service. It would not therefore, be appropriate for me to comment on the possible outcome of the claim.
