asked the Minister for Transport and Power if the decision of the ESB to site the nuclear power station at Carnsore, County Wexford, has been sanctioned by the Nuclear Energy Board.
With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle I propose to take Questions Nos. 136 and 137 together.
The choice of site is primarily a matter for the ESB but will be subject to approval of the Government, acting on the advice of the Nuclear Energy Board.
Last April the ESB announced that, subject to further detailed site investigation, Carnsore, County Wexford, would be their preferred site. The ESB proposals for a nuclear energy station there have not yet been considered by the Nuclear Energy Board.
