asked the Minister for Transport and Power whether, in view of the high cost of oil, he has asked Bord na Móna to investigate the possibility of operating bogs which they previously considered to be uneconomic.
With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 30 and 31 together.
Proposals for a third bog development programme have been submitted to me by Bord na Móna and are being examined. A project for a briquette factory in the general area of Littleton has been included in this programme. I am informed by Bord na Móna that a considerable amount of survey, land acquisition, engineering, design and planning work must be completed before specific information on the matter will be available.
