The European Investment Bank has already made three infrastructure loans totalling £21 million for telephone and rail development in the country as a whole. As I indicated in reply to a previous question from the Deputy, I cannot anticipate future decisions of the Bank. I expect however that the bank will continue to lend substantial amounts for infrastructure development in Ireland, including development in the western regions.
