The level of pesticidal or agro-chemical residues found in agricultural produce in this country is far below the tolerances accepted internationally for medical and commercial purposes. I have however been considering whether any regulations might be desirable in regard to agro-chemicals generally.
Is the Parliamentary Secretary aware that there is an increasing complaint of cancer as a result of agro-chemical residue in vegetables such as carrots?
We have no information to support that assertion.
