My sanction is not required for individual schemes included in a local authority's programme of small water supply and sewerage schemes. The local authority submit their programme and I indicate the capital that can be made available. Cork County Council, Northern Committee, recently submitted their programme of small schemes for 1975 to my Department. Included in this programme is a scheme to supplement the Cullen water supply by means of an extension from the Millstreet supply. I hope to be in a position soon to advise local authorities of the capital allocations which I can make available to them for the financing of their small schemes programmes for 1975.

asked the Minister for Local Government why a fully paid-up member (name supplied) of the Dromsligo group water scheme, Mallow, County Cork should now be given his money back, excluded from the scheme and not provided with a water supply.
The design for this scheme was recently approved by Cork County Council subject to the shortening of a main because of inadequate pressure. In view of this limitation it is not possible to serve all the houses originally included. I understand that the person mentioned is one of those affected by the curtailment of the scheme.
