Since my previous reply to the Deputy about this matter on 28th February, 1974 the EEC directive relating to cocoa and chocolate products has been amended. Because of this, the time limit for enacting the necessary legislation to give effect to the provisions of the Directive in member states has been extended to 1st July, 1975. Regulations to implement the terms of the amended directive are at present in preparation.
