Vol. 280 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tallaght Garda Patrol Car.

34.

asked the Minister for Justice if, in view of the heavy increase in population in the Tallaght area, County Dublin, he will consider providing an extra patrol car to deal specially with this area.

(Cavan): The Commissioner informs me that he considers that the present allocation of official transport at Tallaght, as supplemented by assistance from the district headquarters at Rathfarnham, is adequate for the needs of the area and he does not propose to increase it for the time being. The situation will be kept under review.

Has the Garda patrol car been bringing in above the average number of prosecutions?

(Cavan): That would seem to be a separate question.

35.

asked the Minister for Justice the number of prosecutions taken as a result of the activity of the Garda patrol car at the Old Bawn Road, Tallaght, County Dublin, during recent weeks.

(Cavan): Summonses have been entered in sixteen cases for breaches of the speed limit during the period of 15th March to 22nd April, 1975, at Old Bawn Road, Tallaght.
