Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Site Geological Survey.

17.

asked the Minister for Local Government if, in view of the fact that general workers laying underground cables in the Wood Quay site, Dublin have unearthed a wooden water pipe dating back some 100 years and returned it to the corporation for assessment and consideration, he will state whether fears expressed by An Taisce concerning the geological survey on this site and its rate of progress are based on factual considerations.

Arrangements to facilitate the archaeological excavation of this site are a matter for settlement between the Dublin Corporation and the National Museum. I have no doubt that the corporation will continue to extend to the museum every reasonable co-operation and facility.

As regards the wooden water pipe, I understand that it is in the care of the National Museum and not of the corporation.
