asked the Minister for Health if it is the intention of the recently established Health Education Bureau to consider the proposal of the former Food Hygiene Advisory Committee that a health education centre should be set up, with a specific role in hygiene education, as an essential part of the hygiene education programmes of the health authorities; if the bureau or his Department have, as yet, reached any policy decisions on this matter; and, if so, if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have asked the Health Education Bureau to consider what aspects of health education should have priority on a national level and to submit, in due course, for my approval, long-term plans based on these agreed priorities.
Those recommendations of the former Food Hygiene Advisory Committee which relate to hygiene education, including the suggested role of a central body in such education, have been brought to the notice of the bureau which will, I feel sure, give them full consideration when their plans for future activities are being formulated.
