Vol. 281 No. 2

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take business in the following order: No. 9 and, in No. 9, Vote 49 (resumed) until 12.30 p.m. and then No. 10 (resumed): Private Members' Business will be taken from 6 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. and then No. 21 (resumed).

On the Order of Business, may I inquire from the Taoiseach whether, since the all-day sitting of the Dáil will coincide with the sitting of the Seanad, the practice that has been established of a break from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. will be followed?

That is not intended.

I am merely asking.

It is not intended because what happens is—I appreciate the difficulties of the staff—that it really defeats the object of sitting a longer day; we lose an hour.

It is worth noting that, after all the urgency imported into the Pay-Related Benefit Bill, we are not now taking it this morning.
