The national wage agreements provide that changes in rates of pay be negotiated through recognised negotiation procedures and in accordance with the provisions of these agreements.
Increases in teachers' salaries and allowances are dealt with solely through the machinery provided for by the scheme of conciliation and arbitration for teachers.
Increases in line with adjustment provided for under national wage agreements have been negotiated, at conciliation council, on all allowances in respect of which claims have been made by teachers' organisations.
